Introduction
The Hong Kong Phlebotomy Association was officially established on 1 September 2006, aiming to bring together phlebotomists in Hong Kong and enhance their professional status through the formation of the association.
Objectives
- The “Hong Kong Phlebotomy Association”, hereinafter referred to as "the Association", was established to provide a platform for members to stay connected.
- To provide facilities for members to gather, share, and exchange experiences.
- To promote the professional knowledge and skills of phlebotomists in Hong Kong, and to establish their professional status.

Registered Phlebotomist
- Completed diploma courses in phlebotomy, venipuncture, and electrocardiogram (ECG) operation; and
- Holds a valid Advanced Phlebotomy Training Certificate issued by the Hong Kong Society of Professional Nursing; and
- Holds a valid Basic Venipuncture Certificate for Healthcare Personnel issued by the Hong Kong Society of Professional Nursing; and
- Holds a valid Basic Life Support Certificate for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association; and
- Holds a valid Basic ECG Interpretation Certificate (Healthcare Provider Edition) issued by the American Heart Association;
- Holds a valid Occupational First Aid Certificate issued by the Hong Kong Society of Professional Nursing; and
- Has completed at least 250 hours of clinical phlebotomy practice; or
- Has held a phlebotomist position for at least six months (employment verification required)
Professional Qualifications
Our [Diploma in Phlebotomy, Venipuncture, and ECG Operation], [Basic Phlebotomy Training Course], and [Advanced Phlebotomy Training Certificate Course] have reached international standards. At the same time, these courses are recognized by the International Phlebotomy Association as accredited programs.
