Since 2004, the Hong Kong Society of Professional Medical Care has been providing training services to the public. Initially, we offered first aid training for healthcare professionals, but have since expanded our services to the general public, corporations, and social welfare organizations. Starting in 2006, we proactively responded to industry demands by launching health care training services, offering both pre-employment and advanced in-service training.
Today, as public awareness of safety, health, and infectious diseases continues to rise, our training has extended to individuals in various sectors, including property management, community and charitable organizations, healthcare, and elderly care homes. Our training scope has evolved from basic first aid and nursing skills to include infection control and community health.
Over the years, we have collaborated with different sectors to arrange a variety of courses, seminars, workshops, and drills for social welfare organizations and businesses, tailored to their specific needs and resources. Our training content, venues, duration, and formats are flexible and can be customized. Certification is also available for certain courses. Our aim is to raise awareness of first aid and health throughout society and to promote the mission of saving lives, caring for the injured, and upholding dignity across all levels of the community.
According to Hong Kong’s Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, every industry is required to have at least one qualified first aider for every 150 employees. First aid refers to the emergency assistance given to injured or ill persons before professional help arrives. First aid knowledge not only helps save lives but also enables responders to prioritize casualties, minimize injuries and fatalities, and ensure the safety of as many people as possible.
